This week in the Upper School Maker Space, Ms Countess and her Latin classes utilized the Maker Space for a 3rd quarter project. Students are exploring the Ancient world by recreating many examples of scientific creations, may of which we still use today.
Example of a project: “Ancient Physics and Mathematics of Archimedes: Students should explore the scientific creations of the ancient world. These should include Archimedes screw, Archimedes claw, heat ray, improved lever, block and tackle pulley systems, improved catapult, odometer, the planetarium or orrery, and the antikythera mechanism. Students consult with the science department.”
Faculty using the Maker Space are supported by the Maker Space Program Coordinator Mr Antonio-Barnes.
