Call for Materials: Lower School Maker Space

Big changes are happening in the Lower School as the summer sun blazes. While we have had “making” happening all throughout our classrooms for years, there is going to be a new dedicated “makerspace” in the LS Library starting this fall. “Making” encompasses design thinking, tinkering, experimenting, failing and collaborating. In order for our LS Makerspace to get off the ground, be maintained, and be successful, we need some help from our community. We are not asking that you go out and purchase anything! If you are cleaning out a closet or the dreaded basement and you come across materials that you think our students could make something with, consider gathering those up and bringing them into school to the Library starting Monday, August 15th.

The list below is the “more common” items and are merely suggestions. They are definitely things that we would like but please do not limit yourself to only items on this list.
