Farm Study in the Lower School

To celebrate how both classes are studying farms, Melissa Ekey’s Pre-1st class collaborated with Jennifer Schultz’s 5C class to make butter. Pre-1st students are learning about various farm animals and how those animals provide food, material, and other resources. Thus far, they have studied about sheep and cows. They will be learning about goats, horses, chickens, and pigs in the upcoming months.

Students in 5C are finishing up a food consumerism and activist unit. They have examined and researched the following question: How can we as food activists impact our community’s involvement in food production and consumption? Stay tuned for more projects that are connected to their learning.
